Thumb control
A Hold to Run switch is also called a deadman switch, deadman switch, enabling switch or release switch.
The switch has three positions: OFF-ON-OFF. The machine can only be controlled in the second middle position when the switch is lightly depressed. If the operator panics or cramps, the switch will be released completely (position 1) or depressed completely (position 3), taking the machine or process to a safe state. The switch has an ergonomic design for operator convenience.
When the switch goes directly from position 3 to position 1, the machine will not turn on in the second middle position. The switch is also equipped with double safety contacts, so even if one of the contacts fails due to welding or a short circuit, the other contact can still disable the operation of the machine.
